Ilaw sa Mabolo Street Purok 1

The secondary wires servicing mabolo and santolan streets at purok uno got burned last Friday. More than a hundred individuals were affected, the night was hot, mosquitoes abound, safety was a concern and frozen foods in their refrigerators will be spoiled if the problem will not be solved.

Residents asked for help from barangay officials who happen to be in front of Sto Nino chapel having a drinking session. The said brgy official simply replied that the said problem is a PUD concern and not his.... then left the Sto Nino chapel area (were the wires were burned) to tranfer the drinking session at the next street were there is power, the Manggahan area.

Four hours past, its one in the morning and the residents were both restless and disappointed from the in-action of the current brgy official.... they called on Ed Piano.

Upon investigation, Ed learned that 26 meters of #4 wire needs to be replaced. He called on PUD desk, the Lead Electrician, PUD Manager, PUD Asst Manager, PUD Operations chief up to the Mayor's office but got reply that the required material is not available. Ed demanded that he would like to see the stockroom... called the person who have the key..... but by this time he is in Zambales (its a 3-day weekend) on his way to Candelaria. Ed convinced him that this is an important matter and requested him to return to PUD stockroom.

Extensive search at PUD stockroom proved futile. No wire is indeed available to replace the burnt wire at Sta.Rita. Its now more than 12 hours since the black-out. Ed started calling the local hardwares untill he found one were the material is available.... it would cost more than three thousand pesos to procure the item. But being a holiday and with PUD's morale at its lowest, nobody in PUD wanted to move to do the emergency procurement.

Its judgement call, Ed will not allow another night of hardship for his constituent. He procured the wire. Went to PUD to fetch the electricians. Climbed the ladder and replaced the wires. Power restored.

Upon restoration of the power, all busted street lights in the area were replaced. The people were happy. Its a no non-sense public service at its best. Its KAPuso Ed PIANO working for the life of his people to be a little bit better.

Residents from Purok uno recently requested basketball from KAPuso Ed PIANO kaya masayang masaya sila nang isang umaga ay dumating sina Ed Piano at Mark Orpiano na dala na ang hiling nilang mga bola.
