The Outstanding Councilor of the Philippines (TOCP) awardee Ed Piano received the reward last night during the opening ceremonies of the 8th National Congress of the Philippine Councilors League held at SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia.
The fund came from the Countryside Development Fund and Priority Development Assistance Fund of Senator Ed Angara. A Special Allotment Release Order (SARO) in the amount of one million pesos (P1,000,000.00) signed by the Department of Budget and Management Undersecretary Mario L. Relampagos was handed over by Senator Angara to Piano. In photo are JCI and PCL executive officers.
Ed Piano's effective use of his legislative sagacity and skills in crafting timely and necessary laws that respond to the needs of the community; and his willingness to work even beyond the confines of the legislative halls, without any compensation, to make sure that these laws make their intended positive impact on the lives of the people has gained him the prestigious award.
